Vinyl Acetate Monomer is a clear, colorless liquid with a characteristic odor. It is a type of vinyl ester that is widely used in the production of various polymers and copolymers, such as polyvinyl acetate (PVA), polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH), and ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA). This is polymerized to form long chains of vinyl acetate units, which results in the formation of a water-soluble polymer that is used in adhesives, coatings, and textile applications. Vinyl Acetate Monomer also is stored in a cool, dry place away from incompatible materials such as oxidizing agents and acids. Waste VAM should be disposed of according to local regulations.
